Policy. Please read through the FAQs, BEFORE & AFTERCARE, TERMS & CONDITIONS prior to setting your appointment to ensure that you are an ideal candidate for permanent makeup. Results varies from client-to-client and lifestyles. How the skin will react is different for everyone and many factors are to be taken into consideration. Skin type, age, scarring, diet, stress levels, facial products used, etc. all play a key role in how the pigment will hold, which is why it is important to know that more than one touch up procedure may be required. We can guarantee that your face is important to us and that we will act in accordance with our experience and expertise to give you our absolute best. We can guarantee that we will strive to make you content every time. But there are no guarantees in this industry. Please think long and hard before you decide to go for it.
We will allow you to have as much control over the procedure as possible, so there's very little room for error. If you do not like the decision you made, the Touch Up can be cancelled and the pigmented area naturally fades away over time. If you aren't 100% sure you would benefit from this procedure, please opt for a more temporary option.
We understand that things happen at the last minute so PLEASE, give us a courtesy call 48 hours (2 days) prior to your schedule appointment in the event you must cancel/reschedule to avoid a cancellation fee. If client does not cancel on time or show up, 50% fee will be charged. This is non-negotiable. Why? Because we reserve the business hours for you and when you decide to no-call/no-show we loose business within those hours.
BIG BOLD BROWS reserve the right to refuse service at any time. Services are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Prices subject to change at any time. Please do not bring your children and pets to your appointment. We are not responsible for your unattended child(s) and missing personal belongings in and on our practice facility. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A MICROBLADING APPOINTMENT?
A typical microblading appointment lasts 2 hours. A touch up appointment lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the amount of work that needs touching up.
All microblading requires a second touch up appointment, because all client’s skin is different and receives the ink differently. It's impossible to accurately predict how a pigment will be affected by a client’s undertones.
After 30 days, the client should come in for a touch up. This appointment can last as little as 30 minutes or as much as two hours, depending on the amount of work needed. In this appointment, the artist will “warm up” or “cool down” the colors, to get it to match perfectly.
They may also reapply any parts of the microbladed brow that may have naturally sloughed off because the artist didn't go deep enough in the skin.
THE BROWS BOUTIQUE encourage our artists to keep a light touch and injure the skin less, which results in finer, more natural lines.
IS MICROBLADING PAINFUL?
Most of our clients report little or no pain. Since the procedure takes a couple hours, some clients have literally slept through it! We leave a topical anesthetic on the eyebrow area for 20 minutes before we begin the process, so this leaves most clients numb during the procedure. However, if your artist begins within that 20 minutes, or if you find that you’re very sensitive, you may report mild discomfort.
In summary, microblading is intended to be a less painful experience, certainly less painful than traditional tattooing on account of the numbing cream. Let the numbing cream take effect, and relax!
WHO SHOULD AVOID MICROBLADING?
While microblading is great for most people, there are some people who are ineligible for microblading and semi-permanent makeup : Those prone to keloids or post-inflammatory hypopigmentation. Unfortunately, since microblading punctures the skin as we add ink, we cannot work with clients with these contra-indicatioons (meaning those taht we cannot provide PMU to) are:.
Those under 18 years of age
People with diabetes
Pregnant and lactating women
People with glaucoma and people who are on/taking blood thinning medicines (e.g., aspirin, ).
People with skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema and undiagnosed rashes or blisters on the Site that is to be treated.
People with allergies to makeup or colours
Those with easily triggered postinflammatory hyperpigmentation are not good candidates
Those with viral or transmittable blood conditions like HIV or Hepatitis
Those who had organ transplant
Skin irritaions near the treated area (acne, rashes, sunburn, etc.)
Active skin cancer in the area to be tattooed
Are a hemophiliac
Have healing disorders, uncontrolled high blood pressure or had mitral valve Disorder.
Those on any skin medication such as roscacea, accutaine, or steroids which thin and oversensitive the skin
Inform us if you have/had allergic reactions to topical anesthetics.
Other Contraindications
If you have a transmittable blood disease such as HIV or Hepatitis. Again, microblading artists cut the skin so it is our policy not to work with these conditions.
If you’ve had Botox, Restalyn, Juvederm or other fillers in that area. Depending on the timing, we recommend to get microblading first! Otherwise, check with your doctor. Many artists may request a note from your doctor first.
Patients undergoing cancer/chemotherapy treatments. Although microblading is great for restoring eyebrows, we would require a doctor’s note for clearance in order to perform the procedure for anyone undergoing chemotherapy.
If you have any kind of skin condition on or near your eyebrows. This includes eczema, shingles, rashes, or anything else near eyebrows.
Children. Microblading is for adults only! We do not recommend microblading for anyone under the age of 18. It is our policy at Big Bold Brows not to work with children, even with a consent form.
Skin peels such as AHA’s (lactic, glycolic, citric, retinoic and tartaric acids) or any OTC creams and lotions for tone correcting, anti-aging, exfoliating, fading can discolor your permanent makeup.
Flu or Cold: Please stay home, reschedule your appointment if you have cold or flu or sinus/respiratory infection. Coumadin: Amount of bleeding and response to topical epinephrine will determine coverage per appointment. If excessive bleeding occurs, extra appointments may be necessary for desired outcome or procedure may not be effective.
Laser eye surgery: Wait about 3 months for eyeliner procedure. All other permanent makeup procedures are ok.
Shingles (varicella): If you have shingles on your face, wait several months to get permanent makeup.
Eyelift or blepharoplasty: Wait about 3 months.
Eyelash extensions: AFTER permanent makeup, not before. Or remove them before your procedure.
Pink eye: As soon as their infection has cleared, medication completed.
Cold Sores: Clients with a history of cold sores need to pre-medicate with an anti-viral drug (Zoviraz, Valtrex, or Acyclovir) prior to a lip coloring procedure.
This covers the major things that might exempt you from getting microblading or semi-permanent makeup.
BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT
Do not exercise the day of the procedure.
Do not tan or have sunburned face.
Do not take prescription blood thinners, Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 24 hours before procedure
No waxing or tinting eyebrows 3 days before.
No alcohol or caffeine on the day of the procedure.
Please not that you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
AFTER YOUR TREATMENT
Holy Brows! You now have your Perfectly shaped eyebrows and it can be met with a number of side effects: lingering glances from complete strangers, complements from dear friends and the uncontrollable urge to snap multiple selfies. For it to last 1-5 years, consider the following points because we want you to always look beautiful and be satisfied with your Permanent Makeup.
Please note: Eyebrows will appear darker and bolder due to natural scabbing and healing for the first 10 days. This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures.
Point 1
4-5 hours after the procedure, clean the area with sterile water and a cotton pad, gauze or q-tip and allow to air dry. Within the next 4 days your permanent make-up may become 30-40% lighter due to the skin cell growth and exfoliation of some of the color pigment - a natural reaction of the skin. Because of the chemistry in your skin, the color might slightly change depend on how different skin type absorb colors- it can be corrected
Point 2
Do not use your regular skin care products and no soap, no oil on your Permanent Makeup for the first two weeks following your treatment - this prevent the pigment color from stripping.
Point 3
To improve regeneration of the treated skin areas, do not rub, scrub, pick or scratch the treated skin areas, only dab very gently with a pad moistened with water. let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring.
Point 4
Do not swim, do not tan, do not take hot bath, and avoid direct sun exposure in the first two weeks following your treatment. Avoid heavy sweating for the first 10 days.

Your touch-up must be no sooner than 2 weeks following your treatment

Do not get any laser skin treatments, facials, facial injectables (i.e. Botox, fillers), chemical peels, microdermabrasion to the face after a permanent makeup treatment for 4 weeks to avoid color change

Should any slight defect show after the first treatment, do not hesitate to contact us. You have touch-up options.
